the gourds have taken over and with no sign of melons... i'm hoping it's not too late. do ya think i could find someone crazy enough to trade their watermelon for my squash?=)
our butternut squash from last season lasted until spring. i was getting quite sick of it which is why i didn't plant any this year. i love squash but don't like cutting it. looks like i'll have to get a sharper knife for this fall...
nice! not growing watermelon here (wish!) and our squash now have blossoms. Our season has been delayed due to poor weather but it's slowly coming along.
part of the fun of the community garden is trading, right?
ReplyDeletethis is very true, bitt. i may have to sweeten the deal a little, though.=)
ReplyDeleteid give you some local watermelon for a gourd. i haven't had squash since probably mid-winter...too bad we're so far apart!

ReplyDeleteYour house will be well stocked with squash this winter. Yummy.
ReplyDeleteWell, at least they are pretty to look at. Hollow 'em out and make some bird houses.
ReplyDeleteI want squash! Would you trade supermarket watermelon for homegrown squash? :P
ReplyDeleteNice squash, if I had a watermelon we would indeed have a trade...but alas, I don't.
